Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Stanly). They blew past the Gray Stone Day Knights, posting an 89-16 win. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Knights are ranked 648th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Gray Stone Day lost, don't look at Colt Greer. Despite the final result, he posted four points and three steals.

The victory (which was North Stanly's third in a row) raised their record to 17-2. As for Gray Stone Day, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Stanly will venture away from home to face off against South Stanly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (South Stanly has won six straight at home, while North Stanly won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Gray Stone Day, they will head out to challenge Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Gray Stone Day surely won't give up without a fight.
