Broad Street extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 3 this week by beating West Tallahatchie, 46-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Kennedy took down Coahoma County 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ladaris Johnson threw for 89 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 32 yards in the win.
Nick Adams made the biggest impact on defense this week as Strayhorn beat Coahoma Agricultural. The 5-foot-10 player grabbed one interception, forced one fumble, recorded one fumble and racked up one sack.
Cory Alexander was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 126 yards on six carries as Broad Street topped the Panthers. Teammate Devante James added to the ground attack by rushing for 82 yards.
Roberts was the best wideout in the league this week as Kennedy topped Coahoma County. Roberts racked up three receptions for 32 yards. Carnez Gant helped Kennedy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
5-foot-8 quarterback Johnson of Sheldon Hodge's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 422. He has also thrown five touchdowns. On the ground, the Mustangs' Greg Caston has rushed for 1187 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ladarious Walker. The Broad Street star has 16 catches for 357 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Hornets take on Damaris Mitchell's team. At the moment, Kennedy is in third, while the Jaguars are in second.
The Hornets led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on MIKE GREGORY's team. Johnson in the win.
