It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hutto 63-7 on the road. The result was nothing new for Duncanville, who have now won nine matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Duncanville was led to victory by Caden Durham and Keelon Russell. Durham gained 158 total yards, while Russell threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Durham hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Another reason for the win was Duncanville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 6.5 sacks. In that department, Colin Simmons was the leader with two sacks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Duncanville and bumps their season record up to 9-1. As for Hutto, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Duncanville will face off against Rockwall-Heath at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockwall-Heath is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Hutto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
