Mason got a great performance from Anna Polca as she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Polca has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Audrey Renners, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Becca Zellner, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Western Brown got themselves on the board against Ryle on Friday, but Ryle never followed suit. They didn't even let the Raiders on the board, marking their second-straight 12-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Broncos sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Jayci Barnes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Barnes was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aubree Taylor and Rilynn Roush did most of the damage at the plate: Taylor went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Roush got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sophie Jamison was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Western Brown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ryle only posted an OBP of .062.
Mason's record is now 15-9. As for Western Brown, their record now sits at 22-3.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mason hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Western Brown struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
