The Bellaire Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lamar Texans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellaire's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Bellaire has not lost a match since January 13th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They had just enough and edged Cesar E. Chavez out 2-1.
Bellaire was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Carlos Jasso and
Sayf Elkousy, who scored both of Bellaire's goals. The pair have combined for a total of three so far this season.
Meanwhile, Lamar scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Cesar E. Chavez 4-1. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Bellaire's win bumped their record up to 6-4-6. As for Lamar, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7-3 record this season.
Bellaire came up short against Lamar in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Bellaire avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
