Homestead has enjoyed the comforts of home their last six games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will  square off against the Heritage Patriots at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The last four games Homestead has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 Last Thursday, Homestead sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-3  win over DeKalb. That's two games straight that Homestead has won by  just one  run.
 Homestead's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Addie May Fleming, who  went 2-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Heritage didn't have quite enough to beat Woodlan on Tuesday and fell  2-1. Heritage has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Danica Fuller was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits. Fuller has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Fuller was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Homestead's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Heritage, they now  have a losing record at 4-5.
 Homestead skirted past Heritage  6-5 in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Homestead since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
