Softball Recap: Norton Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Norton had won six straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 17-2 to make it seven. Everything went their way against the Bellingham Blackhawks as they made off with a 13-1 win. Considering the Lancers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Liana Danubio was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Leah Worthley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Avery Tinkham, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

As for Bellingham, they now have a losing record of 8-9. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Norton: they've now lost nine in a row.

On Bellingham's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Kamin, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Norton has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Case on the 21st. As for Bellingham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-3 defeat against Medfield on the 21st.
