Softball Recap: Allendale Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Allendale waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Montague Wildcats. Considering the Falcons have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lexie Gunter and Kenedie Curtis did most of the damage at the plate: Gunter got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Curtis went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Gunter has posted since back in April. Bailey Scholma was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Allendale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matchups.

Allendale now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Montague, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-20 record this season.

Allendale will venture away from home to face off against Northview at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Montague does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
