Softball Recap: Shell Lake Wins Going Away Against Unity

Shell Lake had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 5-7 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Unity Eagles as they made off with a 15-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lakers needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

As for Unity, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

For Unity's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Cox, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That hit marked the first that Cox has got this season.

Looking ahead, Shell Lake will challenge St. Croix Falls at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Unity, they will head out to square off against Osceola at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
