Madison Christian extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 10-5. They blew past the Tree of Life Christian Trojans 22-2. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Chloe Rice was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Reese Gibson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Larocca, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Madison Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 11 consecutive games.
As for Tree of Life Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. They haven't had much luck with Madison Christian recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
On Tree of Life Christian's side, Zion Harris and Aleah Gibson did some serious damage despite the final result: Harris got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, while Gibson went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Madison Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Delaware Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Tree of Life Christian will take on rival Liberty Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
