The Central Bucks East Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Central Bucks South Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Bucks East knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Central Bucks South likes a good challenge.
Central Bucks South's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Central Bucks East hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Patriots' pitchers stepped up to hand Gwynedd Mercy Academy a 17-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Patriots have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sarah Zmuda made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Lyla Becker looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Hailey Helmstetter was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Funston, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Central Bucks East hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Central Bucks South fell victim to Hatboro-Horsham and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Hatters, falling 8-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.
Central Bucks East's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Central Bucks South, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Central Bucks East suffered a grim 14-7 defeat to Central Bucks South when the teams last played back in March. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
