Softball Recap: North Bay Haven Academy Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

North Bay Haven Academy barely beat Crestview the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Buccaneers blew past the Bulldogs 17-1 on Tuesday. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Addison Mallon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Bailee Gladden and Kaylee Goodpaster did most of the damage at the plate: Gladden went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Goodpaster went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Gladden has posted since back in February. Kellyanne Hill also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

North Bay Haven Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crestview only posted an OBP of .176.

North Bay Haven Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Crestview, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, North Bay Haven Academy will face off against South Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Buccaneers are facing the Seahawks at the right time seeing as the Seahawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Crestview, they will square off against Jay at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
