The Northeastern Clinton Cougars will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Heuvelton Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Wednesday, Northeastern Clinton took a serious blow against Beekmantown, falling 79-46. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northeastern Clinton has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Northeastern Clinton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jordan Brown, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was Brown's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Rabideau, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Heuvelton Central's six-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 61-53 victory over Potsdam. The win was just what Heuvelton Central needed coming off of a 69-35 defeat in their prior matchup.
Northeastern Clinton now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Heuvelton Central, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-3.
