Lake Placid fell to the Red Devils 44-38. If Lake Placid was looking for revenge after losing 60-48 to them when the teams met on Friday, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Lake Placid's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Keveun Mason, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals, and Isaiah Gonzalez who scored 17 points along with five steals. Gonzalez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Avon Park found their leader in underclassman Christopher Kelly, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jatavis Fuse, who scored nine points.
Lake Placid now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Avon Park, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Placid and the Wildcats will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hardee is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Avon Park, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Spartans at 8:00 p.m. Excel Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 477 points over their last seven matchups.
