Lathrop has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Grace Davis Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Lathrop will be strutting in after a win while Grace Davis will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Ceres scored an imposing 59 points on Monday, Lathrop still came out on top. Lathrop took their game against Ceres 67-59.
Lathrop's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raymond Carson led the charge by scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Robert Ellis, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Grace Davis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 66-44 walloping at the hands of Mountain House. While losing is never fun, Grace Davis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1001st, while Mountain House is ranked 181st).
Lathrop's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Grace Davis, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Lathrop beat Grace Davis 68-61 in their previous meeting on January 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lathrop since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
