Baseball Recap: Ripley Has No Trouble Against Nitro

While Ripley put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Nitro. The Vikings blew past the Wildcats 9-0. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Parker Keller made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brady McVay was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Meadows, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Ripley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Ripley's record is now 11-3. As for Nitro, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Ripley will be playing at home against Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nitro, they will head out on the road to take on St. Albans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
