Westerly has gone 8-2 against Barrington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Westerly's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Barrington's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Westerly is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Prout, who was ranked 17th at the time (Westerly was ranked 14th). The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Crusaders on Monday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Frankie Arnold spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Westerly let Dacia Gingerella and Maddie Harvey run wild. Gingerella went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Harvey went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Harvey a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Barrington was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-2 to Tiverton. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since May 3, 2025.
Maya Etheridge made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Fontaine, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Westerly's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4-1. As for Barrington, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westerly hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Barrington struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westerly came up short against Barrington in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 12-8. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
