The McAdory Yellowjackets will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Saraland Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, McAdory beat Calera 35-31. Given McAdory's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Calera is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McAdory's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Ruffin, who threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.0 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. McAdory also got help from Tavaris Coles who showed off his sure hands for 131 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Saraland put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past McGill-Toolen 70-27 on the road. Saraland might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine contests by 29 points or more this season.
Saraland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Dees out in front who picked up 151 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Santae McWilliams Jr. was another key contributor, rushing for 87 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped McAdory to 6-4 and Saraland to 10-0.
