Legal Prep has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Douglass Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Legal Prep pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clemente.
Despite their defeat, Legal Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brandon Sneed, who scored 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jamal Craig, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Douglass' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Kelvyn Park on the road and fell 59-32. While losing is never fun, Douglass can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 662nd, while Kelvyn Park is ranked 297th).
Legal Prep has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. Douglass' record now sits at 2-5.
Legal Prep beat Douglass 73-64 in their previous meeting back in January of 2019. Will Legal Prep repeat their success, or does Douglass have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
