Baseball Recap: Chilton Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Chilton waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Two Rivers Purple Raiders as they made off with an 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Peyton Juckem was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Hudson Ludwig and Mike Vanden Heuvel did most of the damage at the plate: Ludwig went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Vanden Heuvel went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Vanden Heuvel has posted since back in May of 2024. Kale Wagner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Chilton's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Two Rivers, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Chilton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Purple Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
