Rappahannock is a perfect 10-0 against Mathews since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Rappahannock is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.
Rappahannock's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Northumberland. Considering the Raiders have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Avery Brann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rappahannock let Cameron Nash and Kahler Goodman run wild. Nash went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, while Goodman went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Goodman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Rappahannock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northumberland only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Mathews' offense. They came up short against Gloucester on Monday, falling 11-0. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rappahannock pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Mathews, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Rappahannock took their win against Mathews in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 25-1 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
