The Lafayette County Huskers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Lone Jack 74-51. With Lafayette County ahead 40-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.
When it comes to explaining why Lone Jack lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Garrett Mantzey. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Mantzey's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Rowland, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Lafayette County's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.54 points. As for Lone Jack, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Lafayette County will be home for the holidays to greet Marshall at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Marshall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Lafayette County is ranked 78th). As for Lone Jack, they will head out on the road to face off against Lathrop at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lathrop has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
