The Highlands Ranch Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Horizon 83-50 at home. The win was nothing new for Highlands Ranch as they're now sitting on three straight.
Highlands Ranch got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Bakken out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton TerEick, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Horizon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Greene, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Alex Mccollum, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Highlands Ranch now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Horizon, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highlands Ranch will be home for the holidays to greet Littleton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Littleton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Saturday. Horizon and Chaparral will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chaparral presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Horizon in Colorado (Chaparral is ranked 17th, while Horizon is ranked 75th).
