Lakeland came out on top against Eastside on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Lakers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Blazers an 8-0 shutout. The Lakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by eight runs or more this season.

Garrett Pieri made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Keyan Arroyo was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Cole Riehl, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lakeland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.

Lakeland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Eastside, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Lakeland has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Fremont on the 15th. As for Eastside, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-4 win against West Noble on the 15th.
