The Moffat County Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 49-41 to Steamboat Springs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Moffat County has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Moffat County still got an impressive performance from Ian Champ hafey, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Champ hafey hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Evan Beaver, who scored five points along with eight rebounds.
Leading Steamboat Springs to victory were Cole Campbell and Jeffrey Sturges. Campbell scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, while Sturges scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Campbell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Adams, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Moffat County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Steamboat Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moffat County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Rifle is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Steamboat Springs, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Titans at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Coal Ridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.
