Softball Recap: Wilmington Wins Going Away Against Lisle

Wilmington won the last time they faced Lisle and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 9-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lexi Strohm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Taylor Stefancic was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Ally Allgood was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wilmington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lisle only managed three hits.

Wilmington's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-5. As for Lisle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilmington will host Crete-Monee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lisle, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Aurora Christian at 4:30 p.m.
