Crossroad Academy came out on top against Madison County by a score of 55-43. Given Crossroad Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Madison County is ranked 511th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Crossroad Academy was led to victory by Davel Dixon and Tyrek Jessie. Dixon scored 14 points, while Jessie scored nine points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dixon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabari Boahen, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Crossroad Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Madison County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-7 record last season and are now at 5-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroad Academy will face off against Marianna at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Marianna's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Madison County, they will head out on the road to square off against Munroe at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Munroe will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
