The Legacy Lightning suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 82-36 loss at the hands of Legend. Legacy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.
Meghan Allshouse and Olivia Mortensen certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Allshouse scored 12 points along with six assists, while Mortensen dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Mortensen is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Grace Stanley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Legend, scoring 18 points along with seven steals and five assists. Ava Gavi was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists and four steals.
Legacy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Legend, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legacy will take on Erie at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Erie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Legacy in Colorado (Erie is ranked 27th, while Legacy is ranked 150th). Legend will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rock Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
