The Bucktail Bucks will head out on the road to challenge the Montgomery Red Raiders at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bucktail is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Wednesday, Bucktail suffered a tough 68-45 loss at the hands of Neumann Regional Academy. Bucktail was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-22.
Meanwhile, Montgomery lost to Muncy at home by a decisive 61-43 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Montgomery can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 645th, while Muncy is ranked 291st).
Bucktail has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Montgomery, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
Bucktail skirted past Montgomery 56-53 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bucktail since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
