The Webberville Spartans suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Dansville on the road and fell 61-31. While losing is never fun, Webberville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while Dansville is ranked 142nd).
Dansville was led to victory by Ryker Graf and megan zeitz. Graf scored 23 points along with nine rebounds, while zeitz scored 24 points along with seven steals and six assists. Zeitz is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anna Leigh McDaniel, who scored two points along with six assists and six steals.
Webberville dropped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Dansville, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Webberville will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chesaning at 5:30 p.m. As for Dansville, they will head out on the road to face off against Fowler at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fowler is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
