Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Longwood Lions, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by William Floyd on the road and fell 49-13. Longwood was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead William Floyd to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jason Pratt, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Pratt hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj Cannet, who threw for 183 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Longwood's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for William Floyd, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Longwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. William Floyd will square off against Sachem North at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sachem North is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
