Softball Recap: Grafton's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Grafton came into Thursday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Nicolet Knights 12-2 on Thursday. Considering the Black Hawks have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Grace Zvara was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ava Eernisse, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.

Grafton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nicolet only posted an OBP of .211.

Grafton's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Nicolet, they are on a 34-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grafton will take on Wauwatosa West at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Black Hawks are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Nicolet, they will square off against Cedarburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
