Pembroke took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Alexander, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dragons had just enough and edged out the Trojans 7-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Dragons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jayden Hootman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Hootman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
In other batting news, Reagan Schneider was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Sophia Gorski also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Pembroke's record is now 8-6. As for Alexander, their record now sits at 6-5.
