Softball Recap: Verdugo Hills Falls Short of Port of Los Angeles in the Playoffs

Verdugo Hills and Port of Los Angeles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Verdugo Hills had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Dons couldn't push the score so high this time.

With the loss, Verdugo Hills broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-11-1. As for Port of Los Angeles, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Verdugo Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Port of Los Angeles, they will challenge Eagle Rock at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Polar Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
