Livingston is 1-8 against Hardin-Jefferson since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Livingston Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Livingston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
Last Friday, Livingston took a serious blow against Hamshire-Fannett, falling 86-54. While losing is never fun, Livingston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 681st, while Hamshire-Fannett is ranked 230th).
Despite their loss, Livingston saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jayden Randolph, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Ziekus Garner was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hardin-Jefferson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 70-54 bruising from Hamshire-Fannett.
This is the second loss in a row for Livingston and nudges their season record down to 11-11. Hardin-Jefferson's record is now 16-13.
Livingston barely slipped by Hardin-Jefferson in their previous meeting back in January, winning 45-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Livingston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
