Volleyball Recap: Minooka's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Minooka had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Joliet Central Steelmen by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Minooka easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14.

Connor Latta paced Minooka's offense, picking up ten kills. Latta got some help from Nicholas Boyce and his 22 assists. Jack Hopman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Minooka picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 6-11. As for Joliet Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Minooka will face off against Bolingbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Joliet Central, they will challenge Illinois Math & Science Academy at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Steelmen are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
