The Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 77-33 loss at the hands of Whitko. Lakeland Christian Academy has struggled against Whitko recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Lakeland Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Katie Reimink, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Whitko was led to victory by Jayma Stonebraker and Kloe Krieg. Stonebraker scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals, while Krieg went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krieg has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Stonebraker, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lakeland Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Whitko, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.
Lakeland Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Lakewood Park Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood Park Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lakeland Christian Academy in Indiana (Lakewood Park Christian is ranked 156th, while Lakeland Christian Academy is ranked 360th). Whitko won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southwood on January 24th. Southwood is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
