4A SPSL - North recap Oct. 30, 2012
Kentwood extended the longest winning streak in 4A SPSL - North this week by beating Kentlake, 31-21. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Conquerors.
Kent-Meridian made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,397 from 9,402. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-9 victory over Kentridge last week.
Auburn Riverside's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kevin Thomsen threw for 185 and one touchdown and Drew Wallen had 46 yards receiving. On the ground Thomsen chipped in 35 yards. Cameron Clark helped Auburn Riverside's passing attack out by catching three balls for 42 yards.
Michael Robinson made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Ravens lost to Auburn. The senior recorded one fumble.
On the ground, the Royals' Quincy Carter has rushed for 714 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cartez Green. The Kent-Meridian star has 25 catches for 452 yards.
The Trojans led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Auburn Riverside.
