The Potter-Dix Coyotes were the 50-39 winner over the Leyton Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Potter-Dix took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leyton on Friday. Potter-Dix has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Potter-Dix still got an impressive performance from Brayden Kasten, who scored nine points along with ten steals. Landon Gasseling was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Leyton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonathan Kruse led the charge by scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Kruse is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Miller, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Potter-Dix's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Leyton, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Potter-Dix will take on Banner County at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leyton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Minatare at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
