Football Recap: Buchholz's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Buchholz and Osceola squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Buchholz had to settle for second. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Osceola Kowboys. The Bobcats' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Buchholz lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Trace Johnson, who threw for 439 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave Johnson a new career-high. Keil McGriff also helped out as he racked up 162 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Taevion Swint, who rushed for 199 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.5 yards per carry for Osceola. Swint was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Jeffrey Sinophat was in the mix too, providing Osceola with two touchdowns.

Buchholz's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Osceola, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Buchholz does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Osceola, they will face off against West Boca Raton at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Osceola: 14.4, West Boca Raton: 8.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
