Manteca (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Sonora (Calif.), 49-21, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by
Alex Laurel in the first quarter, the Buffaloes led 28-14 at the half.
Manteca grew its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS's lone score in the quarter came on a passing touchdown.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 34-32 win for the Buffaloes.
The loss was the fourth in a row for the Wildcats.
Manteca (3-1) will play a Valley Oak game against Lathrop next week, while Sonora (0-4) will take on Sierra also in a Valley Oak game.
