The Topeka Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Junction City 83-49. Topeka has not had much luck with Junction City recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Topeka still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Lyons, who scored 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lyons has scored all season.
Topeka has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Junction City, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Topeka is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Manhattan at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Manhattan is coming into the game with four straight defeats at home, so Topeka is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Junction City, they will head out on the road to challenge Washburn Rural at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Washburn Rural is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season.
