The Chaparral Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Belton. While losing is never fun, Chaparral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 585th, while Belton is ranked 215th).
Reese Rumfield was his usual excellent self, throwing for 171 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.
Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Belton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Chaparral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Belton will look to defend their home field on Friday against University at 7:00 p.m. University will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
