The BASIS - Scottsdale Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-61 to BASIS - Chandler. The result was an unpleasant reminder to BASIS - Scottsdale of the 55-43 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
Despite the defeat, BASIS - Scottsdale had strong showings from Nithish Prakash, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Jacob Shamoun, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shamoun has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Tropper, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
BASIS - Chandler found their leader in underclassman Kalan Karuppana, who scored 23 points along with eight assists and four steals. Karuppana hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaden Moore-Kosslow, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
BASIS - Scottsdale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for BASIS - Chandler, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
BASIS - Scottsdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for BASIS - Chandler, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Dream City Christian at 6:00 p.m. BASIS - Chandler is coming into the matchup with four straight victories at home, so Dream City Christian is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
