Football Game Preview: Hayden Tigers vs. Soroco Rams + How To Watch

The Hayden Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Soroco Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hayden has three straight victories, Soroco has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hayden is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Rangely 72-30. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hayden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Danek DeMorat, who rushed for 216 yards and four scores while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. With that strong performance, DeMorat is now averaging an impressive 104 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Peyton Johnson, who rushed for 204 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hayden was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 526 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Soroco's offense. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of West Grand on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Mustangs are ranked 15th).

Soroco's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hayden, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Hayden against Soroco in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-20 victory. In that game, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 46-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
