Basketball Recap: Lewis Cass Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Lewis Cass on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Delphi Community Oracles out of the water with a 55-21 final score. The Kings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 34 points or more this season.

Lewis Cass got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Hedrick out in front who posted 12 points along with seven assists and six boards. Ava Hubner was another key player, putting up nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Hedrick wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lewis Cass was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delphi Community only racked up seven assists.

Delphi Community's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddy Brown, who put up four points and eight boards. Brown has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Lewis Cass pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Delphi Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis Cass will take on Whitko in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Whitko knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Lewis Cass likes a good challenge. Delphi Community and Taylor will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Delphi Community is facing Taylor at the right time seeing as Taylor is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
