Lago Vista's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Manor New Tech hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. Manor New Tech never let Travis get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory last Friday.
Lelani Ceballos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Aaliyah Sinnie was a standout: she scored four runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Alexis Sinnie was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
Manor New Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .643. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lago Vista). They put the hurt on Travis with a sharp 24-0 win on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won seven matchups in a row.
Like Manor New Tech, Lago Vista also got a great game from a two-way player: Winter Callahan. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Callahan was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Brynlea Cox and Sydney Mosser did most of the damage at the plate: Cox went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI, while Mosser scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Helton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Lago Vista's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Manor New Tech, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Manor New Tech hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .407. However, it's not like Lago Vista struggles in that department as they've averaged .389. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Manor New Tech suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Lago Vista in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Manor New Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
