Wallenpaupack Area has gone 9-1 against West Scranton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Wallenpaupack Area will be playing at home against West Scranton at 4:30 p.m. West Scranton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wallenpaupack Area, who comes in off a win.

Wallenpaupack Area took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Honesdale 6-5. The Buckhorns' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Wallenpaupack Area let Peyton Toth and Greg Van Gorder run wild. Toth scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Van Gorder scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Michael Paltzer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, West Scranton fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Old Forge on Sunday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 6-4.

Tyler Scotch was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, West Scranton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anderson Hidalgo, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI. Those two hits gave Hidalgo a new career-high. Another was Jason Selemba, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Wallenpaupack Area's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for West Scranton, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

Wallenpaupack Area skirted past West Scranton 2-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Wallenpaupack Area repeat their success, or does West Scranton has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
