Michigan City came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to La Porte.
While Michigan City was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into La Porte's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10, 25-14.
Meanwhile, Lake Central entered their tilt with Portage on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on Portage with a sharp 3-0 win.
Lake Central was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-9, 25-21.
Michigan City better keep an eye on Isabella Steliga. She was instrumental in Lake Central's win, getting four digs and two aces. What's more, Steliga racked up 18 assists, the most she's had over her last six matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Barth, who had nine digs and one assist.
Lake Central's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Michigan City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17.
