Parsons is 2-8 against Labette County since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Parsons Vikings will be home for the holidays to greet the Labette County Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, it was close, but Parsons sidestepped Mulvane for a 51-49 win.
Meanwhile, Labette County entered their tilt with Independence with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Labette County walked away with a 40-28 victory over Independence on Tuesday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Labette County has scored all year.
Labette County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nevaeh Jones led the charge by scoring 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Jones. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Obrien, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Parsons' victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Labette County, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Parsons was able to grind out a solid victory over Labette County in their previous matchup back in February, winning 60-52. Will Parsons repeat their success, or does Labette County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
